MoTC Deputy Minister joins closing ceremony of High-level Conference on COVID-19 online

Deputy Minister for Transport and Communications U Aung Kyaw Tun joined the virtual closing ceremony of the High-level Conference on COVID-19 (HLCC 2021) organized by the International Civil Aviation Organization-ICAO yesterday.
The HLCC 2021 was convened on 12 October and the closing ceremony was organized with five programmes yesterday. First, Mr Salvatore Sciacchitano, Chairman of ICAO made a remark and the ICAO officials reported on the safety of the aviation industry.
Then, Deputy Minister U Aung Kyaw Tun discussed the acceleration of drive for the launch of initial flights to world countries, short-term plans including the vaccination programmes for passengers and medium-term and long-term plans for the resilience and sustainable development of the aviation sector.
He also welcomed the introduction of safety measures and facilitation for international flights by settling the challenges caused by COVID-19 and highlighted the instructions and technical supports of ICAO, efforts being conducted in line with the motto: No country left behind and cooperation work with the member countries.
Then, the meeting approved the Ministerial Declaration of High-level Conference on COVID-19.—MNA
