MoTC Union Minister receives delegation led by Vice-President of Russia Association for Friendship & Cooperation with Myanmar

The MoTC holds talks with the delegation of the Russia Association for Friendship & Cooperation with Myanmar.

Among the delegates who have arrived in Myanmar to discuss potential investment and trade cooperation between Myanmar and the members of the Eurasia Economic Commission at the invitation of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, the 14-member Eurasian Economic Commission led by Vitaly Maliev, Vice-President of the Russia Association for Friendship and Cooperation with Myanmar was received at the Ministry of Transport and Communications in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
At the meeting, Union Minister for Transport and Communications Admiral Tin Aung San said Myanmar and Russia have had diplomatic relations since 1948, and it is now 74 years. He expressed words for thanks for Russia’s development assistance to Myanmar. The Myanmar-Russia aviation agreement was signed in 1970 and provides aviation services between the two countries. The two countries are also coordinating to cooperate on information security in the telecommunication sector. He welcomed cooperation with Russian technology.
The two sides exchanged views on possible cooperation in the field of air and railway transport, the information technology sector, electronic equipment supply and future work.
Those present at the meeting included the deputy ministers of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the permanent secretaries and officials. — MNA
