MraukU Township Chief Officer U Tun Yan Naing Thu and officials inspected the installation progress of the National Electrification Plan (NEP) (ICB-2) solar power systems for individual homes in the villages in MraukU Township, Rakhine State yesterday.
The costs related to the
installation are covered with loans from the World Bank, procured by the Department of Rural Development and public funds and the project is slated to be completed within the 2017-2018 fiscal year.
The NEP (ICB-2) plans to install 225 small-scale and 58 large-scale systems in homes across Nat Chaung Village, Jin Chay Village, Tar Ze Haung Village, Kan Pine Chaung Village and Myauk Chaung Village.
So far, 40 small-scale and 18 large-scale have been installed in Kan Pine Chaung Village, and 59 small-scale and 28 large-scale systems have been installed in Myauk Chaung Village.
In related news, the MraukU Township’s Department of Rural Development installed light bulbs and fluorescent lamps for schools and monasteries in Myauk Chaung Village and also installed 9 solar powered lampposts along the village roads.
