The Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS) was presented with the International Humanitarian Services Award by the American Red Cross on 4 March at the ARC headquarters in Washington D.C., the United States.
On behalf of the MRCS, its Chairman Dr Maung Maung Myint accompanied by executive members Dr Tin Nyunt and Professor Dr Daw Mya Thu, and Director of Rakhine Operational Management Unit Daw Aye Aye Nyein, received the award.
The Myanmar Red Cross Society was awarded for work that exemplifies and inspires the humanitarian values of human dignity, respect, compassion, and the protection and assistance implied in the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.—MNA (Translated by Kyaw Zin Tun)
