MRF to provide seeds, fertilizers and agricultural chemicals to flooded rain-fed paddy fields

The Myanmar Rice Federation (MRF) has announced that it will provide necessary seeds, fertilizers and agrochemicals to rain-fed paddy farms damaged by floods this year.

Recent heavy rains have caused flooding in some rice cultivation areas, and the water has already receded in some areas, but some fields are still under water, resulting in agricultural damage, the MRF said.

In order to prevent production losses in these affected rain-fed paddy fields, to be able to add necessary inputs in cultivation, and to enable replanting in some areas when the season permits, the MRF, its affiliated associations and member companies  will provide necessary seeds, fertilizers and chemicals, it added.

People are therefore advised to contact and coordinate with the MRF’s local committees and its associations or the township agricultural department, and it plans to provide assistance to areas in real need. For this matter, people can contact 01-218266-68, 09- 420773222 and [email protected], the MRF said. – MT/ZN
