MRTV Farmers’ Channel, MRTV Sports Channel to be upgraded from 1 August

MRTV Farmers’ Channel and MRTV Sports Channel will be upgraded from 1 August, according to the Ministry of Information.
Rebranding of these channels was done by the Ministry of Information, MRTV and Hey Play Company Limited.
The channel rebranding of MRTV Farmers’ Channel and MRTV Sports Channel will be launched in commemoration of two years and six months of State service of the State Administration Council on 1 August and for the dedication ceremony of the Maravijaya Buddha image in Nay Pyi Taw, which will be the highest among the seated Buddha statues in the world.
MRTV Farmers’ Channel and MRTV Sports Channel broadcast for four hours daily and four rotations for a total of 16 hours each.
After the rebranding, these two channels will be broadcast in cooperation with Hey Play Company Limited from 6:00 am to 12:00 pm starting from 1 August.
In such broadcasting, the department will continue to broadcast as originally with four hours each. For the remaining 14 hours, Myanmar TV series and movies produced by Hey Play Company Limited, Farmers’ business experience and prospects, seasonal agriculture and rural lifestyle programmes, training methods in collaboration with sports federations, football clubs participating in the Myanmar National League – (MNL) and international football matches will be broadcast. A total of 18 hours will be broadcast by dividing the broadcast time.
MRTV Farmers’ Channel broadcasted information on modern farming systems and agricultural information related to the agricultural sector, technology and experience in environmental protection and rural development starting from 15 October 2013.
MRTV Sports Channel started broadcasting on 15 February 2018 to watch sports techniques and national and international sports events.
MRTV broadcasts television and radio FM programmes daily, with a total of 18 channels including private channels including 6 in-house channels using the DVB-T2 system.
In addition, the DTH system has been broadcasted through In-House Channels since 1 February 2023, and efforts are being made to add new channels for the development of television media. — ASH/KZL
