MRTV, PPD hold ceremonies of monsoon tree-growing, releasing fingerlings

The monsoon tree-growing and fingerling-releasing event of MRTV and Printing and Publishing Department in progress.

Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn attended the ceremonies of 2022 monsoon tree-growing and releasing fingerlings at Nay Pyi Taw Printing Factory of the Printing and Publishing Department-PPD in Zeyathiri Township and MRTV in Tatkon Township yesterday.
First, Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn and wife Daw Khin Swe Win grew the Mahogany plant at Nay Pyi Taw Printing Factory.
Then, the deputy minister, the permanent secretary, departmental officials and wives grew teak sapling while the staff grew saplings.
A total of 200 saplings including teak, Ceylon ironwood, raintree, Mahogany, Senna siamea and Mangosteen were planted at the Nay Pyi Taw Printing Factory during the event.
Then, the Union minister and party went to MRTV and the Union Minister and wife grew star-flower saplings together with his wife.
The deputy minister and relevant officials also planted 1,600 saplings at the designated places.
Then, the Union minister and wife freed Taiwan catfish fingerlings into the fish farm.
The deputy minister and party freed 5,000 fingerlings.
Then, the Union minister met with the newscasters and staff of MRTV and highlighted the role of media in the current trend, the need to provide true news, apply for active and creative programmes and prioritize the youth sector.
Finally, he inspected the MRTV radio studio and 5.1 Surround Sound studio. —MNA
