The Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement provided K14 billion in financial assistance to over 200,000 pregnant women and children under two years and K16 billion to over 100,000 senior citizens.
The ministry drew up the National-level Welfare Strategic Project in 2014. It is committed to comprehensive and inclusive social protection coverage to fill the needs of all children, women, elders, the disabled and vulnerable particular groups.
Those who are entitled to enjoy social security benefits in the 2023-2024 FY are decided upon with the social management system.
Government, philanthropic groups, non-governmental institutions and citizens need to make concerted efforts harmoniously to carry out social protection works so that they can help people in need to stand with confidence and self-esteem and contribute to human resource practices.
Additionally, the ministry started providing social pensions to senior citizens and cash assistance to the Home for the Aged, Centre on Philanthropy, Women Care Centre, voluntary night school for primary education and pre-primary schools yearly. — TWA/KK
