Honorary patrons Daw Kyu Kyu Hla and Daw Khin Thet Htay of the Myanmar Women and Children Development Foundation attended the 11th anniversary of the foundation at Horizon Lake View Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
Speaking on the occasion, Chair of Myanmar National Women’s Committee Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Soe Win said that the foundation is implementing the solar power project for rural development by signing the MoU with the Barefoot College of India and Indian Embassy to Myanmar.
He continued that the foundation has been initiating a good treatment project for protecting the rights of children.
The Union minister noted that the National Strategic Plan for the Advancement of Women (2023-2032) is being implemented through the collaborative efforts of the steering committee and 12 working committees.
He recounted that the foundation has been emphasizing the conducting of vocational training courses for women, undertaking education promotion of children, donations to displaced people and disaster victims, and healthcare services and rural development undertakings for rural people during the COVID-19 period.
He urged all women’s organizations and partner organizations to accomplish the aims and objectives of the strategic plan of the foundation.
Chair of the foundation, Dr Wai Wai Tha, extended greetings, whereas central executive committee member Dr Nanda Hmun discussed the development of women in ASEAN countries.
A documentary movie and the documentary photos of the foundation were presented to the attendees.
Honorary Patron of the foundation Daw Kyu Kyu Hla awarded the winner from Bago Region in the article contest and the Social Outstanding Award winner from Shan State.
Honorary Patron Daw Khin Thet Htay also presented the Social Outstanding Award to the winner from Kachin State.
The Union minister presented the World Vision International Founder Award to the winner from Kachin State.
Honorary patrons Daw Kyu Kyu Hla and Daw Khin Thet Htay visited the documentary photo show and products.
