Myanma Tourism Bank launches MTB Pay

Myanma Tourism Bank (MTB) launched MTB Pay on 28 August. The service is currently available at 23 branches.
The service will extend to its branches across the country. MTB Pay aims to promote tour operators. Meter bills, bills for broadcasting channels and top-up services are available at the moment. Later, it will provide instant payment with a QR scan at the shopping centres. It aims to reach people from remote areas for cash transfer, withdrawal, deposit and transaction services, helping develop the country’s economy.
“MTB Pay is not a mere mobile wallet platform. It is a customer commitment to deliver value. Let’s move forward to a brighter and vibrant future together,” CEO U Win Lwin of MTB Bank affirmed.
Individuals can open the MTB Pay account easily by providing personal information such as name, date of birth, address and citizenship scrutiny card. After verifying them, automatic processing will follow within 24 hours.
