Myanmar acts moderator in ASEAN Women CEO Forum in Jakarta

A Myanmar delegation from the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) joined the ASEAN Women CEO Forum which was held at Hotel Ritz Carlton Pacific Place in Jakarta, Indonesia on 2 September 2023, according to the UMFCCI.
At the forum, General Secretary Daw Khaing Khaing Nwe of UMFCCI served as moderator for an event titled “Financing Opportunities: The Pathway to Women’s Empowerment.” The event of speakers included Ms Shinta Kamdani, CEO of Sintesa Group and Chairwoman of the Employers Association of Indonesia (APINDO), Ms Hafimi Abdul Haadii, Executive Director of LVK Group of Companies, Ms Christine Yu, Co-Founder of Sophia, and Ms Susli Lie, Partner at Monks Hills Ventures.
During the forum, speakers discussed several topics related to women’s representation in the financial sector. Their discussions was emphasized obstacles and biases that cause weakness of women’s representation in financial sector and ways of solving, promotion ways of economic abilities of women, cooperation pathway to create environment support for women’s entrepreneurship and financial capacities from government and financial organizations, investors and private sectors, policies and activities to increase financial support on gender-responsive and investment practices, and financial sector for women entrepreneurs in line with digital transformation and technology advancement.
Women entrepreneurs and experts from ASEAN and dialogue partners countries discussed digital transformation, education, finance and leadership sectors. Each discussion focused on importance role of women in every sector and participation of women in development of economy, strengthen of relations among regional and globalization while supporting the vision of ASEAN 2045 and pathways of solving gender equality. — ASH/KZL
