Myanmar attends SEACEN-BIS high-level seminar, 20th meeting of SEACEN executive committee

The South-East Asia Central Banks (SEACEN Centre)-Bank for International Settlement (BIS), the SEACEN-BIS High-level Seminar, was chaired by the SEACEN Centre and the Central Bank of Brunei Darussalam on 22 September, and the 20th Meeting of the SEACEN Executive Committee was held yesterday afternoon through videoconferencing.
The meetings were attended by Deputy Governors of the 19 SEACEN member central banks, the SEACEN Executive Director and Directors, subject experts from BIS and representatives. Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar Daw Than Than Swe attended the meetings from Myanmar.
The seminar discussed “Changing Nature of Capital Flows and their Implications”, “Challenges Central Banks in the region will face in the short to medium term in this new landscape,” “Changing Nature of Capital Flows to Emerging and Frontier Economics-Managing Capital Flows and Taper Redux, respectively.
At the 20th Meeting of the SEACEN Executive Committee, SEACEN Executive Director Dr Mangal Goswami and Managing Director of the Central Bank of Brunei Darussalam Madam YM Dayang Hajah Rohiah Haji Badar presented the status of the strategic project implementations for 2021-2022 by the SEACEN Centre; priorities and budget for the year 2022; SEACEN governance issues; central bank-related subject topics to be taught in 2022 and research programmes; scholarships for students from the SEACEN member central banks; SEACEN recruitment process.
Deputy Governors from the 19 SEACEN member central banks and delegations provided necessary suggestions on the presentation. — MNA
