Myanmar beat Hong Kong in Asian Games women’s football event

Myanmar beat Hong Kong 1-0 in the Group E match of the Hangzhou Asian Games women’s football competition in Hangzhou, China yesterday.
Myanmar and Hong Kong played the second match of Group E. Due to the winning of this match, Myanmar, which was beaten by South Korea in the first match of this group, is expected to reach the quarter-finals.
As Myanmar and Hong Kong were defeated in the opening matches, the two teams tried to win in the hope of advancing to the next stage. In the first half, both teams could not score the winning goal. In the second half, Myanmar scored the only goal of the match in the 69th minute by Myat Noe Khin.
South Korea and the Philippines played another match of this group in which the Philippines were thrashed 5-1 by South Korea. After playing two games for each of the teams, South Korea has six points. Both Myanmar and the Philippines have three points each, while Hong Kong has lost both matches and has yet to score.
The final matches of Group E, South Korea versus Hong Kong, and the Philippines versus Myanmar will be played at 6 pm Myanmar Standard Time on 28 September. — Ko Nyi Lay/ KZL
