Myanmar, China PR sign MoU on water resources cooperation

Union Minister for Transport and Communications U Thant Sin Maung received Mr. E Jingping, Minister for Water Resources of the People’s Republic of China, and party at his office in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on water resources sector cooperation, and also signed the memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of water resources between their two ministries.
The MoU includes drawing up strategies, policies and plans for water resource development, water resources management cooperation, flood and drought management, examining data and forecasting matters related to water, water resources management and conducting technical trainings and cooperation on the agreed other water resources by the two countries.
The Union Minister then hosted a luncheon for the Water Resource Minister of China PR and party at the Horizon Lake View Resort Hotel.
The China PR Water Resource Minister will conduct a study tour along the Yangon River on 6 November. — MNA (Translated by Kyaw Zin Tun)
