Myanmar conveys 300 tonnes of maize silage to China through Muse border on 15 Nov

Myanmar has delivered 300 tonnes of maize silage to China through the Muse border and further exports will be undertaken, stated the Ministry of Commerce.
Myanmar sent 300 tonnes of maize silage aboard 10 trucks to China via the Muse border on 15 November 2022. The maize silage fetched 954 Yuan per tonne.
China grants Form E tax relief for Myanmar’s maize silage import.
Last August, Kangrui (Myanmar) Agriculture & Livestock Development Co Ltd exported 30 tonnes of maize silage to China, with an estimated income of 72,900 Yuan. The company established a factory in Lashio city. It has been planning to make further exports to China.
From 18 February this year, Myanmar commenced legitimate export of 51 tonnes of maize silage to China through the Chinshwehaw border.
The maize silage is maize crop cut ensiled in a stack or bunker and it is used as feedstuffs.
On 15 November 2021, six Myanmar entrepreneurs registered with the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China to export Myanmar’s maize silage.
Additionally, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China (AQSIQ) signed an agreement on 31 January 2022 regarding SPS Protocol (Sanitary and Phytosanitary Protocol) biosecurity for Myanmar to legally ship maize to China. The SPS protocol is a must for legitimate export to China, the main trade partner of agricultural products with Myanmar.
According to the agreement, Myanmar can export maize grains to China through maritime routes and border channels. This agreement will boost the legitimate Agri trading between Myanmar and China and bring about the interest of the growers.
At present, maize is cultivated in Shan, Kachin, Kayah and Kayin states and Mandalay, Sagaing and Magway regions. Myanmar has three maize seasons – winter, summer and monsoon. – NN/GNLM
