The Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin attended the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) Council Meeting and related meetings in Vientiane, Laos, on 12 and 13 August and arrived back in Yangon yesterday.
On the first day of the meeting, the Union minister highlighted the prioritized sectors of Laos that play crucial roles in essential infrastructure development, cooperation and resilience of ASEAN and expressed full support for priorities and drafting of the 2025 ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community Post-2025 Strategic Plan.
During the ASCC Council High-Level Interface with ASCC Eminent Persons for the Development of the ASCC Post-2025 Strategic Plan, the Union minister mentioned the discussions of eminent persons that guarantee sustainable development and uplift the socioeconomic status of people.
On the second day of the meeting, the Union minister discussed ASCC programmes, including strategic wisdom, adaptability, and sector-wise cooperation.
The Union minister met the staff of the Myanmar Embassy in Vientiane on 14 August and urged them to make efforts for the interests of religion and people showing loyalty to the country and citizens. — MNA/KTZH
