Myanmar delegation arrives in the Netherlands to attend the open court where the Judgement of the Court related to Preliminary Objections raised by Myanmar will be read

Myanmar delegation are seen off at Yangon International Airport before departing for the Netherlands on 20 July.

Concerning the application filed by the Gambia alleging Myanmar of violating the 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, the International Court of Justice will read the Judgement of the Court on the preliminary objections raised by the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in open court on 22 July 2022 at the Peace Palace, The Hague, the Netherlands.
To attend the aforementioned open court, the Myanmar delegation led by U Ko Ko Hlaing, Agent of Myanmar and Union Minister for International Cooperation, and Dr Thi Da Oo, Alternate Agent of Myanmar and Union Minister for Legal Affairs and Attorney-General of the Union, left for the Hague, the Netherlands on 20 July 2022. Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and officials saw off the delegation at the Yangon International Airport.
It is learned that the Myanmar delegation arrived at the Amsterdam International Airport at 06:35 am on 21 July 2022 and Ambassador U Soe Lynn Han and officials from the Myanmar Embassy in Brussels welcome the delegation at the airport. — MNA
