Myanmar hosts 3rd Regional Workshop on ASEAN Common Competency Standards for Tourism Professionals

The third Regional Work shop on ASEAN Common Competency Standards for Tourism Professionals is in progress.

Myanmar hosted the 3rd Regional Workshop on ASEAN Common Competency Standards for Tourism Professionals in a hybrid system yesterday.
Speaking at the workshop, Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Htay Aung said the country is carrying out the ASEAN mutual recognition arrangements on tourism professionals to facilitate work processes of these professionals, mutual recognition and management sectors. While the country is serving as Chair of the ASEAN Tourism Professional Monitoring Committee, it released ASEAN mutual recognition plans on the Tourism Professionals 2019-2023 in 2019 and served as the leading country in implementing work plan 1 of that plan.
The country also hosted the first and second regional workshops in 2019 and 2021 and completed processes of reviewing and updating the ASEAN common competency standards for tourism professionals and it was approved by the ASEAN Tourism Ministers at the ASEAN Tourism Forum-2022 held in Cambodia. The third workshop is held to discuss the Packaging Rules and update the standards for each job title.
Then, the ASEAN Tourism Professional Monitoring Committee chairperson made a remark and the ASEAN Common Competency Standards for Tourism Professionals-ACCSTP reported on the progress in reviewing and updating the Packaging Rules.
Then, the representatives from 10 ASEAN countries discussed the Packaging Rules for each sector of hospitality.
The second-day session of the workshop will be held on 21 December. —MNA/KTZH
