Myanmar imports over 29,000 tonnes of fertilizer worth $57.279 mln in Nov

Myanmar brought in over 29,000 tonnes of fertilizer worth US$57.279 million from foreign countries by sea and border channels in November, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
The country imported over 17,000 tonnes by the sea with an estimated value of $52.588 million, with 45,000 tonnes from China, about 2,000 from Malaysia, over 10,000 from Saudi Arabia, 9,000 from Japan, over 3,500 from Thailand, 2,600 from the Republic of Korea, over 1,000 from Oman, over 1,000 from Chinese Taipei, 850 from Germany, 550 from Indonesia, over 500 from Israel, 150 from Finland, over 80 from Viet Nam and over five from India. The majority of the seaborne fertilizer import is from China. The import volume of fertilizer was up by 15,000 tonnes compared to that of October.
Meanwhile, the country imported over 12,000 tonnes of fertilizer worth $4.691 million from the neighbouring countries in November, including over 6,000 from China, over 5,000 from Thailand and about 600 from India. The border posts saw a decrease of 200 tonnes compared to that in November. —TWA/EMM
