Myanmar, India eye tourism development

8th International tourrrrThe 8th International Tourism Conference, jointly organized by the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism and Mandalay-based Indian Consulate-General, was held at the convocation hall of Mandalar College in Amarapura Township on 3 and 4 July.
Deputy Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Sai Kyaw Ohn spoke about arrangement for development of Myanmar’s tourism industry, extended construction of hotels for providing accommodation to the tourists and cooperation between Myanmar and SEA countries in tourism industry while Mandalay Region Minister for Social Affairs Dr Win Hlaing extended greetings.
Indian Consul-General Dr N Nandakumar explained further cementing friendly relations between Myanmar and India and promotion of tourism industry, Mr Tapir Gao of Indo-Myanmar tourism promotion committee, aviation among major cities in South Asia and Mr Shri R K Shivachandra of Indian Tourism Board, arrangements for extending package tours to Bodh Gaya in India.
The deputy minister presented Myanmar’s tourism guide books to attendees.
