Myanmar International Trade Centre to facilitate exports in Yangon

DSC 0510 72The Myanmar International Trade Centre will be opened in March this year in Yangon for promoting traditional handicrafts market. The announcement came at the anniversary meeting of the Myanmar Arts and Crafts Asociation-MACA at the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry yesterday. “To make the trading of Myanmar handicrafts smooth and to find the market for our products, we will open the trade centre soon corner of the Merchant Street and Bo Suan Pet Street,” said U Aung Soe, Director-General of the Myanmar Trade Promotion Organization under the Ministry of Commerce. “A centre will be included in the three-storey building to tackle challenges being faced by traders for trading and export. This centre will be the main centre for export promotion,” he added. Kachin traditional textiles, hand woven clothes, handicrafts made with bamboo, Pyu era beads, woodcarvings, bronze arts, stones, textiles, purses, slippers, materials made with waste and crochets were displayed at the exhibition at the UMFCCI yesterday.—Aye Min Thu, Zarnee Maung (Translated by JT)
