According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Myanmar’s Permanent Representative to ASEAN, U Aung Myo Myint, attended a meeting between the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR) and the National Coordinators of the Pacific Alliance in Jakarta, Indonesia, on 15 August.
The meeting was held in a hybrid format and co-chaired by Ambassador Hjayceelyn M Quintana, the Permanent Representative of the Philippines to ASEAN and Country Coordinator for ASEAN-Pacific Alliance Relations, and Mrs Marcela Otero Fuentes, Director-General of Economic Multilateral Affairs under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile and National Coordinator for the Pacific Alliance Pro Tempore Presidency.
The meeting was attended by members of the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR), National Coordinators of the Pacific Alliance, the Ambassadors and Chargés d’affaires of the Embassies of Pacific Alliance member countries in Jakarta, as well as representatives from the ASEAN Secretariat. The Ambassador of Timor-Leste to ASEAN attended the meeting as an observer.
Participants exchanged views on developments in ASEAN and the Pacific Alliance, reviewed the implementation of the ASEAN-Pacific Alliance Work Plan (2021-2025), and discussed ways to further enhance cooperation between ASEAN and the Pacific Alliance. — ASH/TMT
