Myanmar, Korea to cooperate in transport sector


Myanmar and South Korea will cooperate in the transport and logistics sectors, according to U San Khine Hla, chairman of the Myanmar Transport and Logistics Federation (MTLF).
“Myanmar and South Korea signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in the transport and logistics sector at the Ministry of Transport and Communications in Nay Pyi Taw on 8 February,” he added.
According to the MoU, the exchanges of information and communication technology, holding of workshops and training will be included in the transportation and logistics sector.
Mr. Sigon Kim, chairman of the Korean Society of Transport (KST), and officials from MTLF held an inspection tour of Bagan, Mandalay and Kyaukse towns so they might observe the real situation on the ground.
MTLF will seek to contribute towards the development of Myanmar’s transportation sector through cooperation with South Korea.—Ko Kyay Mohn (Translated by Hay Mar)
