Myanmar martial arts tourney concludes in Nay Pyi Taw

The Myanmar traditional martial arts tournament concluded on 25 January at the Wunna Theikdi Indoor Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw, with participants from different states and regions taking home medals.
In the women’s 45-49 kg Bando striking event, Khin Moe Aye (Taninthayi Region) won the gold medal, Moe Pwint Phyu (Mon State) won the silver, and Thitsar Min (Sagaing Region) and Ngu War Shweyi Tun (Bago Region) won the bronze medals.
In the men’s 53-57 kg Bando striking event, Min Maw Maw (Sagaing Region) won gold, Thet Oo Kyaw (Ayeyawady Region) secured silver, and Kyaw Kyaw Zin (Magwe Region) and Kyaw Maw Htet (Shan State) took home bronze medals.
Meanwhile, in the men’s 61-65 kg Bando striking event, Han Saw Oo (Sagaing Region) won the gold medal , Hein Thein Thein Lin (Shan State) got the silver medal, and Ar Tawparr (Kachin State) and Wai Yan Soe (Nay Pyi Taw) secured the bronze medals.
The best fighter award for men was secured by Khin Yati Ko (Yangon) and for women by Manshin Paung (Chin State).
The shield for women martial artists was won by Shan State, while the shield for men martial artists was garnered by Sagaing Region. The shield for all-round martial artists was also won by Sagaing Region.—Lynn Thit (Tgi)
