Myanmar national youth teams to compete in MNL-2 competition

LOCAL NEWS

The Myanmar youth national team U-19 and U-16, which are preparing to compete in international competitions, will compete in the 2022 season MNL-2 (first division) tournament, which is scheduled to start in August.
Due to the Covid-19 epidemic, the Myanmar U-19 and U-16 teams have not been able to take training in camp for more than two years, and have only been able to start training in April and May.
Both of these teams are composed of between 25 and 30 preliminary players, and the Myanmar U-19 team is headed by U Soe Myat Min, and the Myanmar U-16 team is managed by U Aung Zaw Myo as the head coach.
The Myanmar teams will compete in the ASEAN-level tournament and the Asian Cup qualifiers this year, but since they will be formed for a long time, they are planning to compete in the MNL-2 (first division) tournament so that the players can gain experience.
Myanmar’s youth national teams have been competing in local leagues for players to gain experience for the past decade.
The Myanmar U-19 team participated in the ASEAN U-19 tournament held in Indonesia from 2 to 15 July and was eliminated from the group stage. — Ko Nyi Lay/GNLM
