The 38th ASEAN National Police (ASEANAPOL) Conference was held at the Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darusalam from 3 to 5 September and was attended by Police Lt-Gen Aung Win Oo, the Chief of Myanmar Police Force, and his delegation.
The conference discussed such topics as drug trafficking, terrorism, arms trafficking, wildlife poaching, cybercrime, and economic crime.
The Chief of Myanmar Police Force met separately with his counterparts and deputy chief of police from New Zealand, Australia and Canada and discussed increased cooperation between the countries’ police forces.
Attending the 38th ASEANAPOL Conference were the chief of police forces and deputy police chief from ten ASEAN countries, as well as officers, officials and representatives from
China, the Russian Federation, Australian, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, Turkey, Fiji, and Timor-Leste, ASEAN Secretariat office and the Office of the Secretary General of Interpol, the National Crime Agency of UK and European police agencies, representatives from Sri Lanka, France, Canada and the ICRC attending as observers, and other officials.
