Myanmar Rice Conference 2022 successfully concludes

The Myanmar Rice Conference 2022 is in progress yesterday.

The Myanmar Rice Conference 2022 was successfully held at the Myanmar International Convention Centre-II in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning with the attendance of State Administration Council Member Mahn Nyein Maung, Union Commerce Minister U Aung Naing Oo, ministers of regions and states, experts and businesspersons.
Regarding rice production development, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation discussed the papers on the development of rice cultivation, seeds production and rice purchase, storage, milling and value-added activities.
In addition, the Myanmar Rice Federation, associations, companies and representatives of rice growers discussed the difficulties and the points to support in order to develop and promote rice production.
Senior officers from relevant departments read the papers on the development of Myanmar rice, the role of government in the sustainable development of the rice sector, the national export strategy and the rice export strategy.
The Myanmar Rice Conference 2022 held on 6 and 7 October was attended by 400 representatives from relevant ministries, the Myanmar Rice Federation and associations and farmers.
During the two days of the conference, the reviews on the development of Myanmar’s rice sector such as the collection and cultivation of only good varieties according to regions/states, purchase of fertilizers at a low price, upgrading rice mills to export quality rice and sending delegations abroad to increase exports including the government and the private sectors to carry out together.
The conference was successfully wound up in the afternoon, it is reported. — MNA
