Myanmar-Saemaul Geumgo conducts online training course on village treasury project

The Myanmar- Saemaul Geumgo opened a three-day online training course on the village treasury project from the training room of the Agricultural Extension and Rural Development Centre in Yezin, Nay Pyi Taw on 16 November.
At the opening ceremony, the speech of Mr Park Cha Hoon, the chairman of Saemaul Geumgo from the Republic of Korea, was screened on a videoclip and Deputy Director-General U Thura Soe delivered an opening remark.
Under the Village Saving System Project jointly conducted by the Department of Agriculture in Myanmar and the Saemaul Geumgo from the Republic of Korea, a total of 34 treasuries have been set up in the villages included in Myanmar- Saemaul Geumgo Project.
Families in this project could save their extra money by reducing unnecessary cost at the village treasuries, and the treasury committees would manage their savings in giving out loans for the capital of businesses in the respective villages. The interests are shared to the members of treasury or rural development projects.
The village treasury course has been conducted for one times in 2018 and two times in 2019, and it was attended by 190 village leaders and 62 agricultural staff members.—MNA (Translated by Aung Khin)
