Twelve Myanmar Scout representatives headed by U A Kyaw, U Tin Maung Latt, Daw Myint Sein and Daw Thit Oo who participated at the 1st Solar Scouts Jamboree festival arrived back Myanmar yesterday evening and was welcomed by Myanmar Scout Chief Organizer U Aye Kyaing, senior scouts and youth scouts.
The 1st Solar Scouts Jamboree festival was supervised by National Scout Organization of Thailand and was held marking the birthday of Thailand King’s daughter at Vajiravudh Camp from 11 to 15 December.
Present were Mr. Kongnut Phai Boon, in charge of Scouts Jamboree festival, Thailand scout organizations and over 15,000 youth scouts from Thailand, Myanmar, Pakistan, Viet Nam, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Indonesia and Bhutan.
In the event, the scout delegations were divided into three groups titling Solar for Life, Solar for health and Solar for Environment and held discussions, and took part in the performances, singing and games.
At the ceremony, the national flags of Thailand, Myanmar, Pakistan, Viet Nam, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Indonesia and Bhutan were raised, with national anthems of respective countries and the Scout Oaths.
Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Committee Director Mr. Kongnut Phai Boon also delivered speeches and appreciated Myanmar Scout delegation headed by Dr Tin Nyo for having good disciplines, alertness, communication skills and teamwork.
Myanmar scout representatives, together with scout representatives from other seven countries attended the birthday party of the Thailand King’s daughter held at a temple near the Jamboree camp.
Back home, the Myanmar Scout delegation will stage public activities and share the knowledge and experience they gained at the 1st Solar Scouts Jamboree festival for creating a better world through energy saving.—Myanmar Scout Association
