Myanmar secure silver, bronze at 37th King’s Cup Sepak Takraw Championship

At the 37th King’s Cup Sepak Takraw Championship in Thailand, the Myanmar Sepak Takraw team won one silver and one bronze medals as of the morning matches on 4 September.
In the women’s hoop takraw event, the Myanmar team secured the silver medal, while in the mixed quadrant events, they clinched the bronze.
In the women’s hoop takraw final, Team Myanmar faced off against the host nation, Thailand. Despite a valiant effort, Myanmar lost with a score of 860-700, settling for the silver medal. Thailand won the gold, while Vietnam and Cambodia shared the bronze in this category.
In the mixed quadrant events, Myanmar was placed in Group B alongside Thailand, Japan, and Cambodia. The team achieved two wins and one loss, finishing second in their group and advancing to the semifinals. Myanmar defeated Japan and Cambodia in straight sets but lost to Thailand in two sets. In the semifinals, Myanmar faced Laos and suffered a defeat, resulting in a shared bronze medal with Malaysia. — Shine Htet Zaw/KZL
