Myanmar seeks Chinese investment in energy and environmental conservation

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that Myanmar Ambassador to China U Tin Maung Swe invited Chinese businesspeople to invest in the energy sector. The ambassador extended this invitation during his opening speech at the Second Beautiful China Dynamic Huzhou Investment and Sci-tech Cooperation Conference & Huzhou Future Conference and the Second ASEAN-China Conference on Sustainable Development Cooperation held in Huzhou, Zhejiang Province, on 18 May.
U Tin Maung Swe emphasized the importance of maintaining green development and the natural environment by ASEAN countries and China, particularly in the face of global climate change challenges. He also stressed the need to preserve the environment alongside regional development and called for the establishment of environmentally sustainable cities, citing Huzhou City as a model for environmental conservation.
Furthermore, the ambassador invited investments in environmentally friendly new energy sectors, such as the manufacturing and export of electric vehicles and the production of electricity using solar energy. — ASH/TMT
