The Trade Policy Review Body of the World Trade Organization held the second-day virtual meeting on the second trade review report of Myanmar yesterday.
The Chair of TPRB from World Trade Organization and the Ambassador of Iceland, Mr Harald Aspelund, extended greetings to the meeting which was taken part by Permanent Secretary U Min Min from the Ministry of Commerce, and he discussed the implementation of agreements, rules and pledges in the provisions of WTO.
During the first day session of the body, a total of 23 representatives from Canada, the United States, Malaysia, Brunei, Thailand, the United Kingdom, Japan, the Philippines, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, China, Turkey, Indonesia, EU, Brazil, Laos, China (Taipei), India, Cambodia, Viet Nam, Czech, Australia and Nepal discussed the issues in the trade policy review of Myanmar and raised some questions.
Myanmar will also reply to the questions received after 11 January on the scheduled date.
Ms Kirsti Kauppi, the Ambassador of Finland, and Mr Harald Aspelund made their remarks on the trade review processes of Myanmar.
The meeting was taken part by 30 representatives from the trade and relevant departments online, and representatives from 164 countries joined the meeting online and in person.—MNA
