The Myanmar national team is currently taking training in Thailand in preparation for the third round of the 2023 Asian Cup and played a 0-0 draw friendly match against Hong Kong at Pattana Stadium yesterday.
The tune-up match allowed unlimited substitutions and both teams made many players substitutions in both the first and second halves.
In the first half, the Myanmar team’s strikers Than Paing. Maung Maung Lwin, Hein Phyo Win, and Hlaing Bo Bo came close to scoring, but Hong Kong’s backside and goalkeeper were able to defend.
In the first half, both teams were able to penetrate each other but did not score and the first half ended.
The Hong Kong team is also preparing for the Asian Cup and has changed good players, including nationals.
The taller Hong Kong players used high balls but the Myanmar team was able to handle it systematically.
In the second half, Ye Min Thu’s own kick hit the goal post within 18 yards, and Myat Kaung Khant’s free-kick missed a little bit.
The Hong Kong team’s long-range shots and headers were saved by substitute goalkeeper Pyae Phyo Thu, which ended in a goalless draw.
The Myanmar national team will play the last tune-up match before the third round of the Asian Cup on 27 May.
The FIFA “A” International Friendly Match will be played against Bahrain, ranked 89th in the world, at BG Stadium in Bangkok at 6:30 pm Myanmar Standard Time. — Ko Nyi Lay/GNLM
