Myanmar team lose in Viet Nam U-19 Invitational Tournament

The third-place match of the Viet Nam U-19 invitational tournament was held in Binh Duong, Viet Nam yesterday, and the Myanmar team suffered a defeat.
In the third-place match, the Thai team won over the Myanmar team by seven goals to three goals. In the group match, the Myanmar team lost to Thailand by one goal to nil, but in this rematch, they missed out on the third prize with a big loss. Team Myanmar scored the first goal, but the goals were easily conceded and missed the medal.
The Myanmar team took the lead in 11 minutes of the match by Hein Zaw Naing’s long shot, but the goal was lost as they conceded five more goals between the 13th and 40th minutes. Thanat Ri scored in the 13th and 23rd minutes, Cassidy in the 16th minute, Piranan in the 27th minute, Pirasi in the 40th minute, for Thailand.
Near the end of the first half, the Myanmar team got back to equalize, and Thein Zaw Thiha scored the second goal in the 43rd minute, and Khant Zin Hein scored the third at 45 minutes. At the end of the first half, the Thai team was winning by five goals to three goals, thanks to a goal by Pak Zin Hein in the 45th minute.
In the second half, the Myanmar team tried to equalize, but only the Thai team scored more goals. Piranan scored the winning goal for the Thai team in the 64th minute. Pirasi scored in the 83rd minute.
In the final match, the host team Viet Nam won the championship by defeating the Malaysian team in a penalty shootout. The game was tied at one goal each, and the host team won by penalty kicks by four goals to three goals. —Ko Nyi Lay/GNLM
