Myanmar team reach semi-finals of Thai Invitational Futsal Championship

Myanmar’s national futsal team has advanced to the semi-final of the Thai Invitational Futsal Championship after the group matches of the tourney which was held on 17 March in Thailand.
In the last match of the group, Iran beat Myanmar 2-0 and the host Thailand and Oman drew 1-1.
Myanmar played a decisive match against Iran for the first place in the group but lost because Iran is one of the top teams in Asia.
The Myanmar team lost, but goalkeeper Kyaw Htet Aung won the best player award for that match.
At the end of the group matches, Thailand and Oman were tied with 4 points in Group A, but Thailand bagged first place while Oman finished second in the group.
In Group B, Iran finished first with six points while team Myanmar finished second in the group with three points and reached the semi-finals.
The semi-finals will be played on 19 March and Myanmar will face Thailand while Iran will play against Oman.
Mongolia and Maldives, who are bottom of the group, will also play for fifth place. —Ko Nyi Lay/GNLM
