Myanmar, Thailand discuss boosting trade and tourism via key Shan State route

According to the Shan State government office, Myanmar and Thailand discussed enhancing trade and tourism by utilizing the Tachilek-Kengtung-Taunggyi-Meiktila-Mandalay Road via the Tachilek Friendship Bridge.
On 23 August, Thai Ambassador Mr Mongkol Visitstump and U Zaw Lwin Oo, Chairperson of the Shan State government branch office (eastern Shan State), held discussions in Kengtung, eastern Shan State, about accelerating trade and tourism along this route.
Additionally, the delegation led by the Thai ambassador and Shan State government officials visited Kengtung Airport and inspected the trade flow and transport of goods along the Kengtung-Taunggyi Road. — ASH/TMT
