During the meeting between Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing and Thailand Ambassador Mr Mongkol Visitstump, they discussed closer cooperation in immigration enforcement activities to ensure orderly entry and exit of their respective citizens and prevent illegal border crossings.
The meeting took place at the Ministry of Immigration and Population in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
They also discussed joint search and rescue measures for Thai citizens trafficked at the border regions through collaborative efforts of relevant ministries. The meeting focused on aid of Thailand for supply of medicines and necessities during the COVID-19 outbreak in Myanmar, repatriation of displaced persons and reconstruction measures of Mocha-hit Rakhine State.
They also exchanged views on cooperation in bilateral immigration measures for effective prevention against online gaming-related issues. — MNA/KZW
