Myanmar to play against Indonesia in ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2024 opener

Myanmar will play against Indonesia at the opener of the ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2024, as the ASEAN Football Federation has released the fixtures for group matches of the tournament.
The final stage of the cup will comprise two groups of five teams each. Group A consists of defending champions Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia and the qualified team from the play-off match. Group B comprises Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, Myanmar and Laos.
According to the fixtures, Myanmar has to play with Indonesia and Laos at home and the Philippines and Vietnam at away.
The matches of Cambodia versus Malaysia and the qualified team from the play-off match versus Thailand will be held on 23 November. Likewise, matches of Myanmar versus Indonesia and Laos versus Vietnam will take place on 24 November.
On 26 November, Malaysia will meet with the qualified team from the play-off match, whereas Singapore will face Cambodia. Indonesia will take on Laos, while Myanmar will fight against the Philippines on 27 November.
On 29 November, the qualified team from the play-off match will compete with Singapore as well, and Thailand will play with Malaysia. Furthermore, a match between Laos and the Philippines and one more match between Vietnam and Indonesia will be held on 30 November.
Similarly, Singapore has to meet with Thailand, whereas Cambodia will take on the qualified team from the play-off match on 2 December.
On 3 December, the Philippines will encounter Vietnam and Myanmar will play with Laos. On 6 December, Thailand will face Cambodia, while Malaysia will meet with Singapore. The last matches, Vietnam versus Myanmar and Indonesia versus the Philippines, will take place on 7 December.
Semifinals and finals will be held in the home and away system. The first leg of the semifinals will take place on 10 and 11 December, and the second leg on 13 and 14 December. The finals will be held on 17 and 21 December. — Ko Nyi Lay/TTA
