Myanmar to play MSAR today in World Cup Qualifiers

The first round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers will be held today at Thuwunna Stadium, and the Myanmar team will play against the Macau team.
The pre-match press conference for the match between the Myanmar team and Macau was held on 11 October at the Thuwunna Football Stadium press conference hall, attended by the head coach and captain of both teams.
“I will prepare for a good result and a decent performance in this match to help in the second round match. The first leg will be played at home, so we have to take advantage of the opportunity. Our team beat Macau in the friendly match, but we have to play with focus. We hope to get a good result with the support of the audience. In the last few games, we have scored less, but have not conceded a goal in the last three games in a row.
“A team needs to balance defence and attack. We have prepared well to score more goals. Not because of Kyaw Zin Phyo, the main goalkeeper’s injury, but because there are other good goalkeepers, there is no problem. The players are trying to get the best results even though they only have a few days to prepare,” said Myanmar head coach Feichtenbeiner.
“The results in the last matches were not good, but we have prepared the best for the World Cup qualifying match against Myanmar. The structure of the Myanmar team is more systematic than ours and includes professional players. But the Myanmar team also has weaknesses.
“To get a good result against the Myanmar team, we have prepared the best in terms of mentality. We didn’t beat the Myanmar team in the friendly match, but the upcoming match is not a friendly match,” said Macao Head Coach Olivia. — Ko Nyi Lay/KZL
