Myanmar national men’s football team will take on the Tajikistan team in the third round of the Asian Cup Qualifiers in Tajikistan at 5 pm Myanmar Standard Time on 8 June (today).
The third round of the Asian Cup will be played in six groups, with a total of 12 matches on the first day of the group.
Myanmar and Tajikistan were drawn in the same group in the second round of the 2023 Asian Cup, with Myanmar winning 4-3 in the first round but losing 4-0 in the second round.
The Myanmar team needs good results in all three group matches to win the tournament.
The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) will host the first and second-round matches at home and away. Although it was held on a long-distance basis, due to the COVID-19 epidemic, a group will be selected from the host country and will be held in a one-round format.
The third round will be divided into six groups, with the top six teams from each of the six groups and the top five runners-up will advance to the next stage. — Ko Nyi Lay/GNLM
