Myanmar trounce Maldives 7-0 in AFC U-17 Championship

Myanmar U-17 team celebrated a big win after smashing the Maldives 7-0 in the AFC U-17 Championship yesterday.
The Myanmar team lost their chance to qualify after losing to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and India but in the final group match, they beat the Maldives with half a dozen goals.
Team Myanmar pressured the Maldives team throughout the match with a talent advantage.
Myanmar scored four goals in the first half and three goals in the second half. The Myanmar team played with an advantage from the kick-off, and Saw Myo Zaw scored the first and second goals in the 7th and 28th minutes, Pyae Sone Aung scored the third and Myat Phone Khant netted the fourth goal in the 45th minute.
The Myanmar team changed players in the second half and was able to give pressure on the opponents.
Myanmar’s Pyae Sone Aung scored the fifth goal in 62 minutes, Aung Zaw Myo scored the sixth goal in 69 minutes and Myo Min Khant made the final or seventh goal in the 90+1 minute mark.
Team Myanmar lost six goals to the Saudi Arabian team in the qualifiers, 0-1 to the Kuwait team, and also suffered a defeat to the Indian team by 4-1 but beat the Maldives team by seven goals.
Japan, Malaysia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Viet Nam, Australia, Tajikistan, Iran, and Uzbekistan finished first in their group and won the qualifiers.
South Korea, China, Afghanistan, India, Thailand and Laos also qualified as the best six of the second-placed teams. — Ko Nyi Lay/GNLM
