Myanmar U-16 taking training in Indonesia to write new chapter

The Myanmar U-16 boy’s football team departed for Indonesia on the evening of 19 June to compete in the 2024 AFC U-16 Championship. They started training in Indonesia on 20 June with the spirit of winning the championship trophy.
The AFC U-16 Championship, divided into three groups of four teams, will feature all 12 member countries of the ASEAN Football Federation. According to group allocation, host Indonesia will take on Laos, the Philippines and Singapore in Group A, while Myanmar faces ASEAN powerhouse Vietnam, Cambodia and Brunei in Group B. Meanwhile, Group C sees Thailand, Malaysia, Timor-Leste and Australia.
Team Myanmar will play group matches against Cambodia on 22 June, Brunei on 25 June and Vietnam on 28 June. According to the format of the competition, the top team from each group and the best second-placed team will advance to the next round, resulting in a total of four semi-finalists. — Ko Nyi Lay/KZL
