Myanmar national women’s team striker Win Theingi Tun has made a transfer to Malaysian club Sabah FC.
Though she was playing for Yangon United FC in the 2024 Myanmar Women’s League season, the club agreed to terminate her contract to allow her to move to Sabah FC after receiving an offer from the Malaysian side. Sabah FC is set to compete in the 2024-2025 AFC Women’s Champions League qualifiers, which will commence later this month, and they have signed Win Theingi Tun as part of their preparations.
Win Theingi Tun, who made history as the first Myanmar female footballer to play abroad, has previously played for three Indian clubs and one Thai club. Sabah FC will be her fifth international club. — Shine Htet Zaw/KZL
