Myeik residents receive booster doses, COVID-19 vaccines

Myeik residents get jabbed against COVID-19 in Taninthayi Region.

The government conducts COVID-19 vaccination programmes in Myeik Township of Taninthayi Region as per the target groups. The officials administered booster doses to the villagers from ten wards/villages and departmental staff yesterday.
More than 300 government employees received booster doses at the General Hospital in Kankaung Ward. Moreover, about 1,000 villagers also received their first and second doses of vaccines at their respective wards and villages.
A total of 852 government employees from education, health and police, and those aged over 50 received booster doses six months after they were fully vaccinated in Myeik Township.
The number of estimated people aged above 18 to get vaccinated against COVID-19 is 195,413 and there are 160,911 people who received the first shots, while 150,158 have been fully vaccinated until yesterday. Therefore, 82 per cent of the estimated population are inoculated and officials will continue the inoculation processes as planned, according to the township COVID-19 Control and Emergency Response Committee. — Khine Htoo (Myeik IPRD)/GNLM
