The Work Committee on Drafting the National Land Law and Harmonization of Laws Related to Land Management held its second meeting at the Union Attorney-General’s Office in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
During the meeting, Union Attorney-General U Tun Tun Oo said an action plan (draft) for drafting the National Land Law was created after organizing two workshops by the working committee. The process will be implemented step-by-step in accordance with the draft action plan. He also called for suggestions of the attendees to form working groups with appropriate participants to implement the tasks included in the draft action plan.
Members of the working committee including Hluttaw representatives and representatives from departments concerned, civil society organizations, and farmers discussed and approved the draft action plan at the meeting. They also detailed drawing up of the draft National Land Law in accordance with the draft action plan, and timely reporting that will be made by the working groups and supporting working groups to obtain the themes and contents of the bill.—MNA (Translated by Kyaw Zin Tun)
