National-level committee meeting on resettlement, closure of IDP camps held

Union Minister Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung chairs the coordination meeting (1/2021) of the National-level Committee on Resettlement and Closure of IDP Camps yesterday.

The Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement held the first coordination meeting of the National-Level Committee on Resettlement and Closure of IDP Camps (1/2021) yesterday morning in Nay Pyi Taw.
At the meeting, Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, in his capacity as the Chairperson of the National-Level Committee, discussed policy and procedures to be implemented by the committee, formation of regional level committees and working committees, continued programmes to protect and provide to the internally displaced persons in respected areas and cooperation in rebuilding a safe and dignified environment for the displaced persons.
Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Thet Thet Khine discussed the support for the resettlement of IDPs and the closure of IDP camps as well as the social security support to the currently displaced persons in refugee camps.
Members of the committees and concerned officials briefed on the situation in their respective sectors and the process to be implemented. Union Minister Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung and Union Minister Dr Thet Thet Khine coordinated the meeting.—MNA
