Nature-based tourism booming in Mandalay and surrounding areas

More and more resorts are being created with innovative ideas in natural places in Mandalay and surrounding places.
U Moe Moe Tun, a resident in Mandalay, said, “I am pleased that more and more resorts are being set up to attract more domestic and foreign tourists to Mandalay, which is rich in cultural heritage and natural resources.”
“Nowadays, people are exhausted with the news of COVID-19 disease. In addition, the summer temperatures in Mandalay are rising year by year, and the emergence of innovative resorts combined with existing natural resources, such as mountain and scenery landscapes, will provide more peace of mind for visitors and benefit local people and businesses,” he added.
For someone like Ma Aye Aye Nyein from Tatkon, Nay Pyi Taw, December Park in PyinOoLwin Township, which cultivates and displays a variety of flowers combined with the beauty of the mountain town, is one of the creative resorts that provide peace of mind. “For photography enthusiasts like me, these flowers are the perfect background. Besides, there are cable bridge, waterfall, boat ride, bike ride and I am happy to enjoy all the pleasures,” Ma Aye Aye Nyein said.
Along the way to the waterfall in Patheingyi Township, Mandalay Region, a camp created with tanks are displayed in the beautiful greenery paddy fields to sell local products and the number of visitors is increasing day after day. This place was once renowned for its authentic palm juice and fried local Common Gallinule, and as the times have changed, innovating and upgrading shops to be attractive is encouraging for Myanmar’s tourism sector.
