Nearly 10,000 pilgrims visit Bagan Ancient Cultural Zone daily during three- consecutive holidays

Pilgrims from all over the country visited the Bagan Ancient Cultural Zone in NyaungU Township, Mandalay Region, during three-consecutive holidays, according to officials of the Hotels and Tourism Directorate (Bagan Branch).
Pilgrims and travellers usually visit historical temples in Bagan-NyaungU Ancient Cultural Zone as they are interested in the Buddha images, pagodas and temples and other religious buildings.
They are allowed to visit only 19 pagodas, which have the Pagoda Boards of Trustees, in accordance with the Covid-19 protection measures.
U San Maung, the owner of a toddy palm field, said that locals were making a lot of money, selling local products to visitors during the three-day holiday as there were about 10,000 pilgrims who visited the Bagan Ancient Cultural Zone. — Ko Kyemon/GNLM
