New apartments in Chanmyathazi Township to house service personnel

Work is under way to construct 22 five-storey buildings in Chanmyathazi Township, Mandalay, in the 2015-16 fiscal year.
The region government has built 55 buildings with 718 apartments in 24 townships for government service personnel. At present, a total of 27 buildings with 432 apartments are being constructed in Chanmyathazi Township with funding from the region government, Region Minister for Transport U Kyaw Hsan said.
According to the statistics of the Department of Human Settlement and Housing Development, Mandalay City will see 1.01 percent population growth over the next 30 years.
Town plans have therefore been drawn in 23 townships of the region to improve the living standards of local residents.
Town planners of the department have drawn the plans for extension of new wards in Mandalay, Meiktila, Mogok, PyinOoLwin, NyaungU and Myingyan depending on strategic locations.–Aung Ye Thwin
