New building of Myanmar Language Commission opens in Yangon

Opening ceremony of new building of the Myanmar Language Commission was held yesterday at the building in Inya Road, Yangon.
Union Minister for Education Dr. Myo Thein Gyi, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Phyo Min Thein and Dr. Zaw Myint, Director-General, the Department of Myanmar Nationalities’ languages opened the ceremony by cutting the ribbons.
The Union Minister for Education said that the ministry is carrying out the development of Myanmar language as well as nationalities’ language. The Myanmar language Commission is implementing development on not only Myanmar language but also other nationalities’ languages. He also encouraged people to carry out altogether the development of nationalities’ languages.
Then, the Yangon Region Chief Minister said that he wished Myanmar language, literature, culture and nationalities’ languages to be  long-lasting forover. A member of Myanmar Language Commission Dr. Khin Aye spoke the words of delight.
Afterwards, U Maung Maung Aung, Managing Director of Viking Myanmar Construction Co.Ltd handed over the documents of the building and Dr. Zaw Myint accepted the documents.
At afternoon’ discussion held at the Higher Education Department, Yangon, the Union Minister met with committee members of basic education grade-3 level course curriculum and curriculum planning members, and discussed
on treating the grade-3 level school text books timely and in high quality.—Myanmar News Agency
